Twins Blog: Searching For #19

By Melissa Martz, WCCO

Last week I set out to do a little Spring Training shopping.

This year I am particularly excited because I’m in Twins Territory for the first time in 7 years. I can walk into any sports store and find something Twins and it makes my day. So, new season, new gear.

But I’m apparently just a little too early for some things. Don’t get me wrong, I picked up a great Twins hoodie, t-shirt, a pair of sweet powder blue socks and a “Well Played Mauer” wristband. (That will find its way onto my camera somehow.)

As I combed through jackets, sweaters, caps and t-shirts I couldn’t find the one I really wanted. A #19 T-shirt. Since coming up from the minors last year and having an incredible rookie season, I have become a big Danny Valencia fan.

Finishing 2010 with great numbers, I’m looking forward to cheering on Valencia in his sophomore season, and the rest of the Twins, at Target Field. If I can only find a #19 shirt.

Whose T-shirt/jersey do you have?

I can’t think of a better jersey to wear than #42, Mariano Rivera. Cool, calm and collected.

Where did you get the “Well Played Mauer” Wristband and how can I get one online? I’m from PA so I don’t have any twins stores around here…
