RED WING, Minn. (WCCO) — A Minnesota man lost control and died on Wednesday afternoon after crashing into a ski resort’s chair lift.
According to the Goodhue County Sheriff’s Office, 65-year-old George Conway lost control while skiing at Welch Village Ski Area.
Conway, who is from La Crescent, Minn., then crashed into a chair lift post.
Ski area workers responded to the scene, as well as the county sheriff’s office and rescue workers from Red Wing Ambulance and North Air.
Conway was pronounced dead at the scene.
The exact cause of death wasn’t released, pending an autopsy by the coroner’s office.
