MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) — The National Weather Service is adding more counties to the flood warning list — another sign that the spring melt is already starting to take effect.
Originally in a flood watch, the Minnesota River at Mankato, at Henderson and Jordan has now upgraded to a flood warning
This affects Blue Earth, Nicollet, Le Sueur, Scott, Sibley, Carver counties.
All watches and warnings are in effect until further notice.
The NWS also issued a flood watch for the Mississippi River near Hastings.
As of 6 a.m. Friday, the river was at 5.8 feet there. Flood stage is at 15 feet there. It is forecasted to reach that level by the last weekend in March.
