Dayton Names Day In Honor Of 'U' Coach Who Died
ST. PAUL, Minn. (AP) -- Gov. Mark Dayton has declared Monday to be Murray Warmath Day in Minnesota, in honor of the legendary University of Minnesota football coach who died last week.
Funeral services are being held Monday for Warmath. The Gophers football coach of 18 years led the team to their last national championship in 1960 as well as two Rose Bowls and two Big Ten titles.
Warmath died last Wednesday at age 98.
