Highway 101 In Shakopee Closes Due To Flooding

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) -- Highway 101 in Shakopee, Minn. closed in both directions Wednesday because of rising flood water.

MnDOT and the State Patrol closed the road at 9 a.m. Wednesday. It  remained open to emergency vehicles through noon.

The highway closure spans between Flying Cloud Drive and downtown Shakopee.

MnDOT suggests motorists traveling southbound head east on Highway 212 to southbound Interstate 494, then south on Highway 169 to Hwy. 101. Drivers heading north can take the reverse route.

Crews said Highway 41 is still open and can also be used as a detour, but it will also close by Thursday.
