Pawlenty, Paul Will Speak At Des Moines GOP Event
DES MOINES, Iowa (AP) -- Former Minnesota Gov. Tim Pawlenty and Kentucky Sen. Rand Paul will be keynote speakers at an April event by the Iowa Federation of College Republicans.
Pawlenty will speak April 1. It will be Pawlenty's first visit to Iowa since he announced he had formed an exploratory committee to examine a run for the Republican presidential nomination.
Paul, a tea party favorite who was elected to his first term in November, will speak the next day. Paul already had agreed to come to the state for an Iowa Republican Party event, dubbed the "Night of the Rising Stars."
Other speakers at the event include Iowa Gov. Terry Branstad and U.S. Rep. Tom Latham.
