MDH: 12 Flu-Related Deaths Happened Last Week

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) -- The Minnesota Department of Health says that flu activity in the state is still high with 12 flu deaths happening just last week.

The MDH said the deaths happened from the week of March 13-19.

Since the start of the influenza season there have only been 25 flu-related deaths, so this is basically double of what we've had so far.

There were 13 schools and seven long-term care facilities that reported outbreaks that week too.

In all, 741 people have been hospitalized with lab-confirmed influenza.
