Twins Seek To Shake Yankee Curse In 2011

MINNEAPOLIS (AP) — The Twins have been here before.

The two-time defending AL Central champions are preparing for their second season at Target Field. In the last decade, they have six division titles, MVP awards for Justin Morneau and Joe Mauer, the new ballpark and an expanding payroll.

They are also 2-12 against the Yankees in the postseason since 2003, including three straight sweeps. This season, the Twins hope to have everyone back for a deep playoff run, including closer Joe Nathan.

A little presumptuous, when the season hasn’t even started. This story is nothhing more than a pep rally. Don’t get me wrong, I’m a Twins fan, but this story is meaningless. I get it. The Twins need to beat the Yankees in the post season……what happens if the Yanks don’t make it? Are we a lock for the WS?

If it does go down someone needs to rise up and be the leader like Kirby did!! Morneau or Young is my guess. Mauer is great but soft and not much of a vocal leader. Pitching also needs to be not so freaking scared and throw some chin music at A-Roid and company and back them off the plate. My 2 cents….Go Twins, should be a fun year!

Here we go again! The Twins will always be a small market team, with a small market payroll. Sadly, ya gotta spend the bucks to get a sniff at the promised land. Something the Twinkies have failed to do for quite some time. As far as beating the Yankees this year, it could happen. They are getting old, piitching is suspect, but playing in New York with the fans and press on your case if ya loose a game, I doubt the Twins will ever win a game there. Ya see, to the Yankees and their fans the Twins will always be a therapy session away from beating them. FUGETTABOUTIT!! Twins fans, start now with your Prozac!
