Children's Hospital Offers Measles Vaccinations
MINNEAPOLIS (AP) -- Children's Hospitals and Clinics of Minnesota is offering a measles vaccination clinic for children in the area.
There have been several confirmed cases of the measles in Hennepin County since February, including a few cases among children who had not received the vaccine.
Children's hospital says the disease can be dangerous. It is a respiratory virus that is contagious.
Children can get vaccinated Sunday at the hospital's Specialty Center, on 2530 Chicago Avenue, in Minneapolis. The vaccines will be offered from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m.
There is no cost, but patients should bring Medicaid or insurance cards. The hospital says no one will be turned away while supplies last.
