Funeral Held For Fallen MnDOT Worker

ST. PETER, Minn. (WCCO) -- A funeral was held Monday for the MnDOT worker who died last week fighting the spring floods.

Mike Struck,39, was in a backhoe on March 21 near Seven Mile Creek off Highway 169 in Le Sueur County, clearing ice jams when the backhoe flipped into the water and Struck disappeared.Search crews found his body the next day.

Struck's funeral was held in St. Peter Monday morning. He was also a firefighter, so many fire trucks were there in addition to a MnDOT plow. Gov. Mark Dayton also attended the funeral.

Struck leaves behind a wife and two young children. Earlier this month, Mike's brother died of cancer.
