Minn. Man Pleads Guilty To In 2007 Stabbing Death
VIRGINIA, Minn. (AP) -- A Two Harbors man has pleaded guilty to second-degree murder in the stabbing death of 20-year-old Megan Ashley Anderson three years ago at midday in an Eveleth business.
The Duluth News Tribune reports 32-year-old Jesaiah Lee Carlson entered the plea in St. Louis County District Court on Monday. He agreed to a 40-year prison sentence.
Carlson had been charged with two counts of first-degree murder, two counts of first-degree criminal sexual conduct and two counts of attempted first-degree criminal sexual conduct.
Anderson was working alone at a sign store when she was stabbed 29 times. Carlson was selling cutting boards and children's books in the area at the time.
Carlson's ambiguous statements and a knife found in his car prompted the charges.
