Police Investigate Annandale Fire Death

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) -- Police in Annandale, Minn. are investigating what killed a man who was found dead after firefighters were called to his home on Sunday afternoon.

Captain Greg Howell from the Wright County Sheriff's Office said that crews were called to a fire at the home at 74 Honeysuckle Lane around 3:42 p.m.

When they arrived they found DeVan Hawkinson, 63, dead. Police said Hawkinson lived alone.

Officers are not saying if the fire was suspicious, but they did say that the incident remains under investigation.

Hawkinson's cause of death will be announced pending the autopsy results from the Wright County Medical Examiner's Office.

The Annandale Police Department, the Wright County Sheriff's Office, and the State Fire Marshal's Office are all assisting in the investigation.
