H.S. B-Ball Player Who Collapsed Recovering Closer To Home
PERHAM, Minn. (WCCO) -- A Perham High School basketball player who collapsed on court during a game is now continuing his recovery closer to home.
Zach Gabbard collapsed in January when his heart failed. Several people in the gym helped bring him back to life.
According to his Caring Bridge site, Gabbard's parents took him home to Perham for the weekend. He was scheduled to go into the transitional rehab program at Perham Hospital on Monday.
Gabbard's teammates won the state championship and he was able to make it out to cheer his friends on.
Gabbard had been receiving treatment in the Twin Cities.
