ST. PAUL, Minn. (AP) — Republican Tim Pawlenty’s nascent presidential campaign is settling into a high-rise office building in downtown Minneapolis, the planned headquarters for an anticipated White House run.

An adviser to Pawlenty confirmed Tuesday that the former Minnesota governor’s exploratory committee has leased space and is moving into in the 27-story building. Pawlenty’s campaign will occupy 5,000 sq. feet on the ninth floor.

The lease was first reported by the Minneapolis-St. Paul Business Journal. The newspaper quoted a property broker as saying Pawlenty’s team preferred the site because it is partially furnished, close to a light-rail line that runs to the airport and has many restaurants and amenities nearby.

Terms were not disclosed.

Pawlenty told radio host Dennis Miller earlier Tuesday that a full-blown presidential announcement is coming “shortly.”

Oh big surprise, that the man who would be God is in an Ivory Tower to run over the people below. He will get federal matching funds for his campaign and laugh all the way to the bank. He forgets that MN doesn’t like him as he’s so very self engrandizing. He will tread on many but few will know right away. This is a man who stood in front of the Capitol to constitutionally disenfranchise me so his God would be pleased. Tyrant.

Just think – if he had his way there wouldn’t even be a light rail.

Hope the building topples over wiith Pawlenty

  5. MplsResident says:

Umm… close to the light rail line? I thought he was against the funding and expansion of the light rail line? So, now that it is convenient for him and his campaign, he’s totally cool with using it – even though it wouldn’t have existed if he were governor when it was built? Gotta love it. It’s just like all the (conservative) Twins/Vikings fans from the ‘burbs who SWORE they’d never ride it and fought to keep it from being built. Now you have to wait 4-5 trains to get a seat on game days!
