Bicyclist Seriously Hurt In Apparent Hit-And-Run

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) -- Police are investigating a hit-and-run incident involving a bicyclist in Minneapolis Wednesday evening.

A car struck the bike near the intersection of 14th Avenue North and Lyndale Avenue North at about 9:30 p.m.

The vehicle that struck the bicyclist left the scene without providing assistance or information to the injured bicyclist.

The bicyclist was taken to Hennepin County Medical Center in serious condition. His identity was not released.

Investigators are working to interview witnesses, though they say no one actually saw the crash happen. No one could give a description of the driver or provide police with a license plate.

Police also haven't released any information about what sort of vehicle the suspect may have been driving. The bicyclist apparently didn't have any identification on him at the time of the crash. At this time, no one has reported him missing.

They are asking anyone who may have information regarding this case to call the Minneapolis Police Department's traffic unit at 612-673-2981.
