Still No Cause Of Death For UW-River Falls Student

RIVER FALLS, Wis. (AP) — An autopsy has been done on a University of Wisconsin-River Falls freshman but investigators still don’t know how the 19-year-old died in her dorm room.

Kersten Greene, an Eau Claire native, was found dead Thursday. Police say there’s no sign of trauma or injury.

WQOW-TV reports that toxicology results will take several weeks. Police say there is no threat to the general public.

Within the last week or so, two 19-year-old female students have died in Winona, Minn. The death of a St. Mary’s University student was due to natural causes and a Winona State University student’s death does not appear to be suspicious.

A 23-year-old University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee student also died in recent days, after falling down stairs at a party.

I am sorry to learn of this young person’s death. As a father and grandfather I can not imagine and hope I never know the sadness those who knew her are feeling. The story states that the toxicology results will take weeks. Why? When you are admitted to an Emergency Room the toxicology only takes minutes, it seems to me that “weeks” for this information is an excessively long time to keep loved ones and investigators waiting.

if they dont wait for the coroners report they could jump the gun with misleading or incorrect info

i’m sure it had something to do with drugs, sadly

Sue, was that comment necessary? Her family is probably reading this and they have been through more than enough at this point. They don’t need to read these types of judgmental comments from strangers when you really know nothing about the situation so keep them to yourself.

Sue, sadly you are an idiot. Think before you write.

Let me tell you about her. It may have been drugs but not in the sense you think. This kid survived cancer, The death of her baby brother from cancer when she was 5. A motor cycle accident in aug and a roll over car accident on the first night of Christmas break. The car rolled 5 times. She broke a veritbrea in her neck and suffered a serious head injury.Although nero had cleared her to return to school. She had a lot of pain and short term memory issues. uwrf was aware of that. I doubt very much if any dr had cleared her to play rugby(no helmets) or to scuba dive. But she was doing both. I questioned her about those. She said I played state hockey tournment with broken ankle(2games)Then went to the dr on monday.and surrvied all those others not ot worry she would be fine. She also had several drug allergies. She worked out a lot,was vegitarian, She was not depressed. Maybe wallgreens messed up her scripts? maybe she forgot she had taken them? we thought we had a system set up for her so she could remember.Maybe the new one caused a reaction she had never taken it before. She picked it up tues. So be carful how you judge people. By the way this is her mom!!!!!

Tori, thank you, thank you, thank you for sharing her with us, although it shouldn’t have been necessary!! None of us knows what others go through unless we walk in that person’s shoes, which we don’t and cannot. Please remember this, Sue and everyone else who thinks they can stand in judgment of others!!! Tori, I will keep you & your family in my prayers!!
