Minneapolis FBI Search For M&I Bank Robber

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) -- The Minneapolis FBI is looking for a man accused of robbing the M&I Bank in Edina.

According to a press release, the robbery occurred around 10 a.m. Monday at 3905 W. 69th St. in Edina. A lone man allegedly walked into the bank lobby and approached a teller. He placed an insulated lunch box on the counter and told the teller there was a bomb inside.

The man told the teller he wanted her to give him money. The teller complied and he placed the money inside the lunch box.

The teller told police she saw some brown paper and a wall switch inside the lunch box. The robber then allegedly walked out of the bank, with the lunch box, and left the scene in a white, four-door KIA Spectra.

He is described as a white man in his 20s or 30s, about 6-feet tall and around 185 pounds. He was wearing a green jacket with a logo on the left breast, dark pants and shoes, a wool cap, scarf and multi-colored sunglasses. Police do not believe he is suspected in any other bank robberies in the area.

Anyone with information regarding this robbery should call the Edina Police Department at 952-826-1610.
