2 More UND Hockey Standouts Get NHL Contracts

GRAND FORKS, N.D. (AP) -- Two more University of North Dakota hockey standouts have signed contracts with NHL teams.

Minnesota Wild officials say they have signed defenseman Chay Genoway to an entry-level contract. He will report to the Houston Aeros, Minnesota's American Hockey League affiliate.

The Grand Forks Herald reports that forward Brad Malone has signed a two-year contract with the NHL's Colorado Avalanche and will report to the Lake Erie Monsters of the AHL.

Standout Fighting Sioux forward and Hobey Baker finalist Matt Frattin signed a two-year deal with Toronto late last week and made his NHL debut with the Maple Leafs over the weekend.

UND's season ended last week with a loss to Michigan in the national semifinals.
