COLD SPRING, Minn. (WCCO) — The student who police say brought a gun to ROCORI Middle School and threatened another student could face assault charges.
A petition has been filed in Stearns County District Court alleging that the student who brought the gun should be charged with second-degree assault.
Police say the incident occurred around 9 a.m. Tuesday. The gun was located in the student’s locker with ammunition and was secured. The student was also located and detained.
According to a press release, the student allegedly pointed the loaded gun at another student after being bumped in the hallway. Caleb Conrad said he accidentally bumped into the student, at which point he pulled out the gun and said, “You wanna do that again?”
Conrad said he used to be friends with the student and that he had never seen the student act in this way.
Because the student is a juvenile, the court proceedings will be closed to the public. Additionally, no other information will be released regarding the incident or those involved, according to the release.
