Singer Dessa Prepares For 1st Headlining Tour

MINNEAPOLIS (AP) -- Minneapolis hip-hop singer Dessa is about to hit the road for her first headlining tour.

Dessa launches her 20-date "Into the Spin" tour April 23 in Sioux Falls, S.D. It wraps up May 15 in Omaha, Neb.

Fellow Doomtree members Sims and Lazerbeak will accompany Dessa on the road.

Dessa plans one more appearance in the Twin Cities before going on tour. She'll perform Monday at a free all-ages show at McNally Smith College of Music in St. Paul.

Dessa's debut full-length album "A Badly Broken Code" made some Billboard charts and won critical raves last year.
