Wild Drama Party Cancels Hastings Spring Musical
HASTINGS, Minn. (AP) -- Hastings High School has canceled its spring musical after a drama club party got out of control.
The district isn't saying exactly what happened at drama club get-together in late March. The St. Paul Pioneer Press reports there were no drugs or alcohol and no bullying involved.
Superintendent Tim Collins says about three dozen students attended the Saturday night gathering at a drama club member's home. No school staff members were present.
Hastings Police Chief Paul Schnell says school staff briefed the resource officer about allegations of possible hazing, but nothing rose to a criminal level.
Drama club officers did not respond to Pioneer Press messages seeking comment.
"The Pirates of Penzance" was to run later this month.
