Weather Blog: Flakes Make Us 4th

By Ron Trenda, WCCO-TV

As of early Saturday morning, six-tenths of an inch of snow had fallen at MSP airport, which is the official snow measurement spot for the Twin Cities. That was enough to move us into fourth place on the list of snowiest winters in the Twin Cities.

So there is some consolation for having to wake up to a snow-covered lawn in mid April.

The low pressure system responsible for the flakes is pulling away, leaving us with a windy and cold afternoon.

Snow continues Saturday afternoon in northeastern Minnesota, where there is a Winter Storm Warning.

Sunday will be less windy and slightly warmer, but still well below average. Our average high this time of year is in the upper 50s.

We could see a rain/snow mix at times late Sunday night as well as Monday and Tuesday.

Hard to believe that we hit 76 degrees just last weekend!
