BALSAM LAKE, Wis. (WCCO) – Two people were killed when their car left the road and crashed into a number of trees in Wisconsin late Saturday evening.
Authorities said 35-year-old Jeffery Pomerleau, of Luck, Wis., and 22-year-old Jayme Bottolfson, of Star Prairie, Wis., were killed when their car went off the road along State Highway 65 near 40th Avenue in Alden Township.
The accident happened at about 8:30 p.m. Saturday. Pomerleau was at the wheel, though the 2007 Dodge Caliber actually belonged to Bottolfson.
Authorities said the believe both alcohol and high speed were factors in the crash.
