Police Find Author Of Suspicious Facebook Post

EDEN VALLEY, Minn. (AP) — Investigators have located the woman who posted a suspicious Facebook message that prompted a lockdown at a central Minnesota school district Wednesday.

Schools in Eden Valley-Watkins were locked down after the words “I see dead people” appeared next to a picture of the school.

Investigators obtained the name and location of the IP address of the posting in Minneapolis. They interviewed a woman who was children at the school. She told investigators she had watched the movie “The Sixth Sense” on Tuesday night and made the comment “I see dead people” on her Facebook site that displays the post next to a photo of the school.

The woman’s name was not publicly affiliated with the Facebook page.

The district had put its three schools in lockdown as a precaution.

Boy, another WCCO website typo. I really can’t belive they let this happen on a regular – meaning at least twice a day – basis. This is a professional news station, not a middle school daily. Whoever is responsible for editing these news stories has lost this station a lot of credibility.

I agree, just check out the knee jerk laws that get passed.
Not to mention we might also have a hard time staying on topic.

You old people really stink with technology.

  7. oldschool says:

Nate Hoffmann: It’s us “old people” that developed this technology. Do you have any clue of the microcircuitry involved in a computer? We developed it. Do you know anything at all about electromagnetics? Resistance? Capacitance? Henrys? I’ll bet you know nothing more than how to puch keys on a qwerty. Each generation builds for the next. What have YOU done?

  8. jon says:

The way I see it, you are all a** clowns.

  9. Willow says:

WCCO, you need to hire an editor or two for your website. Please.

  10. isupportEVW says:

I would bet that none of you who think the school district “overreacted” have children at that school.

  11. Will says:

isupportEVW, I totally agree. Safety is prior when it comes to little kids. However this really seems like a stupid joke to me.
