Kristo Returning To UND For Junior Hockey Season

GRAND FORKS, N.D. (AP) -- University of North Dakota hockey forward Danny Kristo says he'll return for his junior season rather than sign a professional contract.

The Montreal Canadiens drafted the Eden Prairie, Minn., native in the second round in 2008.

Kristo is the third non-senior on the UND team to announce this week that he is returning for another year with the Fighting Sioux rather than pursuing a pro contract. Goalie Aaron Dell and defenseman Ben Blood also will be back. Kristo tells the Grand Forks Herald that their decisions influenced his.

UND is awaiting word from three juniors on their plans: forwards Jason Gregoire and Brett Hextall and goalie Brad Eidsness. All three have been drafted by NHL teams.
