Police Think Plymouth Apt. Fire Could Be Arson

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) -- Police in Plymouth, Minn. are investigating an apartment fire they believe may be arson.

The Plymouth Fire Department got a call around 4 a.m. Saturday about smoke in the hallway of the Palace Apartments located at 3905 Lancaster Lane.

Crews arrived and saw black smoke coming from the second floor. They discovered that it was contained in a stairwell going from the first to second floor.

Police think it may be arson because a person was seen running from the building at the time of the fire.

Officers set up a perimeter to search for the suspect, but the no one was found.

There were no injuries and residents were allowed back in the building after it was ventilated.

The State Fire Marshal's Office is investigating.
