Police: Pregnant Woman Involved In Vehicular Assault

ST. CLOUD, Minn. (WCCO) -- A pregnant woman is accused of trying to run over the father of her unborn child while in her car.

According to the St. Cloud Police Department, 19-year-old Vivian Woods, of St. Cloud, has been charged with two criminal counts of second-degree assault, hit and run and having no proof of insurance in connection with the incident.

Police said they were called to the 1500 block of 7th Street Southeast Sunday afternoon.

Investigators learned that Woods had been involved in an argument with a 28-year-old man from Chicago believed to be the father of her child.

Also involved in the argument was another woman, a 24-year-old St. Cloud resident police say is the man's current girlfriend.

Police said Woods got into her vehicle, tried to run over the man and then ran into the other woman, who was in her car and trying to leave the scene.

Woods was taken into custody and is currently being held at Sherburne County Jail.
