Hundreds Will Bike In Memorial For 'U' Student
MINNEAPOLIS (AP) -- More than 300 people say they'll join a memorial bike ride for the 25-year-old University of Minnesota student killed last week when she was hit by a truck while biking near campus.
Minneapolis resident Kyle Torfin organized the event on Facebook. He wrote on the website that he didn't know Audrey Hull personally, but was deeply saddened to learn about her death. He encourages Hull's friends, family and any local bike commuters to join the 17-mile ride and wear white or cat-themed items, as they were significant to her.
The ride will begin Wednesday at 7 p.m. at Van Cleve Park. Bicyclists will ride past the corner where Hull was hit and back to the starting point, making 25 laps to commemorate each year of her life.
