MINNEAPOLIS (AP) – Minneapolis-St. Paul International Airport’s Terminal 2-Humphrey is marking its 10th birthday this week, and to celebrate, vendors there will be offering special deals.
Food vendors and retailers will lower prices on items like Red Bull, Pepsi, T-shirts and souvenirs. Fletcher’s Wharf will offer customers a free slice of cake from Monday through Friday, and Caribou Coffee customers who spend $10 will be entered in a drawing for coffee-themed prizes.
The Metropolitan Airports Commission says Terminal 2-Humphrey is an improvement over the former Humphrey Terminal. The 450,000 square-foot terminal that opened May 2, 2001, cost $73 million to build.
The terminal is different from Terminal 1-Lindbergh in that its key facilities are shared among airlines rather than leased exclusively to specific carriers. Those include gates, ticket counters and baggage carousels.
