EDEN PRAIRIE, Minn. (AP) — Minnesota Vikings coach Leslie Frazier says drafting Christian Ponder has completely changed the way he feels about the quarterbacks on his roster.
Frazier tells The Associated Press that “we could go to camp right now with the three guys we have” — Ponder, Joe Webb and Rhett Bomar.
Still, Frazier says the Vikings could look to add a veteran quarterback if the lockout drags on through the summer. He says it would be hard to put Ponder in as the starter if he can’t practice until late July.
Right now, coaches are forbidden from communicating with their players. The Vikings are preparing for life without Brett Favre, who will presumably remain retired this year.
