Guns Taken Off The Street Turned Into Works Of Art
MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) -- There's an unusual transformation going on that's turning guns into a works of art.
Last June, a number of guns were turned into the Minneapolis Police Department. The Twin Cities Anti-Violence Coalition sponsored the program.
They collected about 75 guns. Now, they're taking those weapons and melting them into plaques.
The Smith Foundry is making two plaques free of charge. One will go to Shiloh Temple International Ministries. The other will be given to North Point Incorporated, an organization that provides services to people in need.
