Tanker Rollover Closes Chisago City Highway

CHISAGO CITY, Minn. (WCCO) — Highway 8 in Chisago City had to be closed Friday afternoon after an oil tanker rolled over, according to the Minnesota State Patrol.

The incident happened at Highway 8 and James Avenue. Authorities said nobody was injured in the incident. The tanker, which was carrying 8,900 gallons of gas, was not leaking.

The State Patrol said the highway will remain closed for an extended period of time.  Authorities said the tanker needs to be completely drained before it can be put back on its wheels and removed.

Driving a tanker is easy enough…you just need to pull your head out of your rear and pay attention to the road and speed limit signs.
