Hospital: Accidentally Shot Officer ‘Satisfactory’

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) — The condition of the police officer who was accidentally shot at a law enforcement gun range in Coon Rapids was upgraded Saturday to satisfactory.

Officer Chad Schirmers, 26, is being treated at the Hennepin County Medical Center. Police said that he suffered non-life threatening injuries.

Schirmers was shot in the hip, between his belt buckle and bullet-proof vest, after a bullet fired on the range apparently ricocheted.
