Police: Plane Crash Near Tin Can Island
MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) -- Police are investigating after a plane crashed near Island Lake, Minn.
Police said Brian Handyside, 49, of Dultuh, was attempting to land his Piper P-18 plane on the beach on the northwest side of Tin Can Island when the plane's left wing hit the brush on the shore. The crash caused the plane the veer left and the wing hit the shore.
Handyside had a 51-year-old passenger in the plane, but neither he nor Handyside were hurt, police said.
St. Louis County police will continue to investigate the crash.
