MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) — The renovation for Target Center would probably cost in the neighborhood of $150 million. About $50 million of that goes to the tenants. Minnesota Timberwolves owner Glen Taylor said he’d be willing to start at a 25 percent contribution, equally 25 percent of $50 million and up. That means he’d probably be in the neighborhood of $15 million out of pocket.


Kevin McHale is being considered for the Houston Rockets head coaching job but there are some that say Doc Rivers may be done with the Boston Celtics and McHale could become a leading candidate for the Celtics job.


The top player at the Howard Pulley Tournament was Isaiah Austin from Texas, ranked in the top 5 nationally. He actually lived in Minnesota for a time growing up. He’s committed to Baylor and he’s got all eyes on him.

“It’s kind of scary because everybody comes to watch our games but you just gotta get used to it, it’s something that’s going to happen to me for a while,” said Austin.


Columbia Heights basketball star Zach Lofton is considering a prep school while many are encouraging him to go to a junior college.

Former Columbia Heights star Jacob Thomas has transferred from Long Beach State and Dan Monson’s team to Howard Community College.


Vikings players in the area are not anxious to start team practices because of risk of injury and there are just not enough players that live in the area to make it work.
