MINNEAPOLIS (AP) — The Minnesota Orchestra has announced the lineup for the 2011-12 season of its Target Free Family Concerts.
The season includes concerts celebrating America and world music, all-ballet shows, a concert built around Mussorgsky’s “Pictures at an Exhibition” and the season finale, Prokofiev’s “Peter and the Wolf.”
Seven concerts are planned. The series offers weekend afternoon presentations at Orchestra Hall in downtown Minneapolis in a one-hour format.
As in past seasons, the free tickets will be offered through a random drawing. The first registration period is for two summer performances on Sunday, July 3; that registration period runs through May 18.
