Mpls. Chef Wins Prestigious Food Award

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) -- A Minneapolis executive chef won one of the most prestigious awards in the food industry Monday evening.

Isaac Becker was named the best chef in the Midwest at the James Beard Awards, which are sometimes referred to as the Oscars of the food world.

Becker is the executive chef of the 112 Eater and Bar La Grassa, both in downtown Minneapolis.

One other Twin Cities chef was nominated in the category Becker won: Lenny Russo, of St. Paul's Heartland restaurant.
