Time To Vote For Best Ad About Distracted Driving

ST. PAUL, Minn. (AP) -- Five finalists have been chosen, and now it's the public's turn to pick the best teen-produced ad about the dangers of distracted driving.

More than 90 Minnesota teens produced 30-second ads for the contest sponsored by the Minnesota Department of Public Safety and AAA.

The winner will receive $1,000, and his or her ad will be broadcast during the 2011 MTV Video Music Awards in August. There are also cash prizes for second and third place.

DPS officials say this is a good time to remind kids about the dangers of distracted driving. Officials say parents should set rules and limitations for teen drivers, including limits on nighttime driving and the number of passengers allowed in a vehicle.

The public has until May 24 to vote at this website.
