Verdugo: College Coach By Day, Saints Coach By Night
MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) -- Jasone Verdugo is a busy man.
He is the baseball coach at Hamline University and the St. Paul Saints pitching coach. His life revolves around baseball.
"I don't mind being at the baseball yard," Verdugo said. "You know, not many people can say they do that for a living."
Sunday, he helped Hamline win a NCAA conference playoff title, which is something the university has never accomplished.
"We've really developed some average players on the front end to being pretty good college baseball players," Verdugo said.
Verdugo has been working at Hamline University for 10 years. Prior to that, he played minor league baseball for the St. Paul Saints.
He went to school at Arizona State University, where he played football and baseball.
