Wolves Look For Lottery Luck
For the fourteenth time in Wolves franchise history, they’re heading into the NBA Lottery looking for a little luck. But if the previous thirteen times are any indication, they’ll leave Tuesday night’s ping-pong party disappointed.
Not one time in the previous thirteen drawings have the Timberwolves improved their position. Several times, they’ve been jumped by teams with far better records including 1992 when they slid back to number three and watched Shaquille O’Neal and Alonzo Mourning go first and second. The Wolves took Christian Laettner and started a streak of lottery futility that included picks such as J.R. Rider, Donyell Marshall, Corey Brewer and Jonny Flynn. Not a good streak.
Mike Max And Dave Lee Discuss Wolves Draft
With a 25% chance of nabbing the #1 overall pick this year, the Wolves have the best odds of staying at the top of the draft board. The worst they could do is slip to #4. Many experts think this year’s draft class is very weak. Duke guard Kyrie Irving is thought to be the only sure thing at the top of the draft followed by Arizona forward Derrick Williams. After that, it’s anyone’s guess.
