MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) – Revenue at the University of Minnesota, the Vikings’ stadium movement and a local connection to Wall Street are all a part of this week’s News and Notes from Mike Max.
Despite things coming together in Arden Hills, plans have not stopped for a Minnesota Vikings stadium at the site of the Minneapolis Farmer’s Market, located next to Target Field. Officials said there is a comprehensive plan in place if the stadium doesn’t end up in Arden Hills after this legislative session.
Former Minnesota Wild player Derek Boogaard liked living in Minneapolis even after heading to play with the New York Rangers, partly because he was planning on working out with a mixed martial arts coach this offseason. Wild draft pick Mikael Granlund dazzled fans with a goal at the World Championships. The Wild is hoping he ends up on the NHL team next fall.
Current University of Minnesota hockey player Max Gardiner was drafted in the fifth round of the USHL Draft on Tuesday, but he is expected to return to play for the Gophers.
Minnesota native Kris Humphries, a current unrestricted free agent in the NBA who would welcome an offer from the Timberwolves, is scheduled to ring the bell on Wall Street soon for his entrepreneurial and charity work.
