2 Arrested For Violent Uptown Robbery

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) -- Minneapolis Police said they arrested one man in connection with the violent robberies that have been happening in the Uptown area over the past few weeks.

Michael Boyce, 19, was taken into custody around 10:30 Wednesday morning.

He was booked at the Hennepin County Jail and remains in jail awaiting charges of aggravated robbery.

Police said he was arrested for the April 28th robbery where a man walking alone at night on 2628 Colfax Avenue South. The man was punched, knocked to the ground, and then kicked unconscious before being robbed.

Investigators believe Boyce may be tied to other violent robberies in that area and they are not releasing his mug shot yet because they don't want to jeopardize other open investigations.

Just after 4 p.m., Minneapolis Police said they made a second arrest in the case. Joseph Frederick Tucker, 21 of Minneapolis, without incident after a vehicle he was riding in was pulled over. Tucker has been booked into the Hennepin County Jail on probable case aggravated robbery and is awaiting criminal charges.
