1 Killed On Hwy. 169 By Wrong-Way Driver

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) -- A person is dead after a wrong-way driver hit their car head on in Mille Lacs County.

The Minnesota State Patrol said it happened just before noon Thursday on Highway 169.

A Ford Focus was traveling north in the northbound lane of the highway. A man driving a Toyota Camry, Ronald Lee, was going wrong way in the northbound lane and hit the Focus.

Lee, 61, of Coon Rapids, was brought to North Memorial Hospital and is in critical condition.

The driver of the Focus, whose name won't be released until Friday, was killed, according to the State Patrol.

The were the only two involved in the accident.
