Minn. Congresswoman Mulling 2012 Run Comes To Ohio

ARCHBOLD, Ohio (AP) — Ohio is playing host to a Minnesota congresswoman considering a 2012 presidential run.

U.S. Rep. Michele Bachmann is lined up to speak at a Republican fundraiser in northwest Ohio on Friday night.

She’s a tea party favorite and a three-term congresswoman.

Her appearance comes just days after another social conservative, former Arkansas Gov. Mike Huckabee, decided against seeking the GOP nomination.

She’ll speak at an event in Archbold hosted by Ohio congressman Bob Latta.

Bachmann says she’ll decide on whether to run for the White House by sometime in June.

Few knew of her until recently when she became hero of the conservative tea party movement by fighting with the GOP establishment.

  • No tea

    Ho hum…

  • yep

Does she do anything for the district she is supposed to be representing? I would love to know how many days this year she has been out of state.

  • Sue

No she hasn’t done anything for her district since she’s been in office she’s too busy traveling around getting a bunch of morons to listen to her blab about how Obama is anti-american and possibly running for president that she has no change in hell of winning that is why her district has the highest unemployment rate in MN and highest foreclosure rate in MN.

    • Claire

Actually Sue the highest unemployment numbers are all outside of the 6th District…Mille lacs, Kanabec, Cass, clearwater and Isanti.
In regards to foreclosure rates you are correct Cenrtal Mn has been hit hard, but a bit of a stretch to blame it on Bachmann. I dont think she signed all those mortgage docs or lied about income for these people.
So when a DFL candidate from MN contemplates a run for President he or she wont travel around speaking and building support? Dont think so, but I’m sure you wont complain then.

      • Sue

They shouldn’t be traveling around like that when they were elected to do a job to help their district and the people who live there whether a Repub of a Dem, if they plan on running for president then they should quit their job in congress and then they can spend all the time they want on that, but she has done nothing since being in office and has not introduced any bills since being in office to help her district the only thing she has done has been shooting off her mouth on TV and complaining about Obama and half the facts are not even true.

        • Claire

Thats a great idea and all but if they quit office we now need special elections to appoint a new member. Also, once they lose, which most will, what will they ever do for a living? Live off the 6 figure govt retirement? How will they ever survive?
I am just saying that no sense throwing Bachmann under the bus for doing what every other politician that currently holds office during a Presidential run has ever done.

          • Sue

You know what Claire, there is just no sense in talking to people like you that has no sense at all and haven’t a clue what they are talking about.

            • Claire

Wow, I kind of agreed with you above, but I guess you are going to leave it as if its a Republican shame on you but if its a Democrat no comment.
I must have either missed something in my statements above or they hit too close to home.

  • Steve

Hopefully, the 6th District will be redrawn so Bachmann can be voted out. She’s an embarrassment.

  • Kathy

Not being from Minnesota any longer, (lived there many years ago and have several family members there), I knew nothing about the congresswoman. Have been doing a lot of research and would vote for her for president for sure! I like everything I read, everywhere I read it. We need someone with “American” values, not trying to tear down America. I am a registered Republican but do not vote party in any election. I vote for the person and have crossed party lines many times. But, she would definitely be a candidate I would vote for.

    No thank You Mrs. Bachmann.

Please please please Mr. Paul in 2012 for Republican Nom and President.
He is the only candidate who would do EXACTLY what he has preached/campaigned on, as his 22 year track record strongly supports.
    Mr. Paul’s platform “creates jobs!”
Mr. Paul’s plans put America back on track with jobs created by the attractiveness of a re-regulated dollar to Constitutional Standards. This immediately negates most of the inflation which means the dollars “buying power is increased.”
This extra “buying power” folds back into the economy and repeats itself as people with extra money usually tend to spend it in some way or another.
    I digress;
Mr. Ron Paul for 2012 Republican Nom and President
    Thank You
