Police Chase Rattles Mpls. Neighborhood

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) — A car chase that started in north Minneapolis and went through Lake of the Isles on Friday was like a scene out of a movie.

“You can see the lights down every block. I had to stop several times to let them through,” said one Kenwood neighborhood resident.

People running and walking through the Kenwood neighborhood couldn’t believe it.

As the chase continued, authorities said the driver was throwing suspected narcotics out the window. He kept going and eventually bailed out of the car while it was still in drive near Lyndale and Franklin Avenues.

An officer used his squad to stop the vehicle, while a canine officer stopped the man. Police recovered what is believed to be crack from the area where the man had been driving. The man is now behind bars.

  • Hey Im Joe Pesci

Just another day in paradise Gotta love the local ghetto trash.

    • Mike

Drugs don’t get into the area by themselves. Could be the result of another Republican mimicking the playbook of Ronald Reagan that chose to dump drugs into urban areas to fund his clandestine wars.

      • mikes a moron

Yeah that’s it Mike keep on blaming politicians. FACT is that minorities make up less than 50% of the population, but on average 80-90% of inmate populations…why is this? Is that a national conspiracy by the republicans too? No it’s the conclusion that in general minorities commit more crimes…sorry just backing up my statement with facts. But you go on blaming Ronald Reagan and those evil republicans…ha ha.

        • ^This guys a racist

This man is clearly racist. He fails to take into consideration years of slavery, oppression, segregation, gentrification etc…The government has openly engaged in policies that are a detriment to the pursuit of gainful employment and which out families into a situation in which the propensity to illegal means of feeding themselves and their families increase due to the lock of an alternative.

          • Delmont

I think he was pointing out that many minority groups need to work on some issues. Raise your children to work hard, get an honest job, take care of your children and avoid gangs and criminal activity. I’m tired of the arguement about years of slavery and discrimination. Look at the White House. Our president and the first family are black! Your arguement is old. You can choose to change or continue living in the ghetto, unemployed, living in a dump and addicted to drugs if you want. By the way, I’m Black.

Listened to it live on the scanner while the cop described the supect throwing “white powder” out the window. Really couldn’t believe what I was hearing. Seemed like a dangerous pursuit over some crack.

  • down with government

our government is on BOTH sides of the so called drugwar. they lie, cheat, steal, and incarcerate innocents

  • Ron

This seems to be a isue of a criminal attempting to escape. the police oing the right things. Perhaps if we had a law that said criminals must not flee from police there would not be such a chase. LOL…..

A better Idea is to put the lil perp in a cage where he can be somebodys b***H for a few years to reflect upon his stupidity.
