Police Chase Rattles Mpls. Neighborhood

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) — A car chase that started in north Minneapolis and went through Lake of the Isles on Friday was like a scene out of a movie.

“You can see the lights down every block. I had to stop several times to let them through,” said one Kenwood neighborhood resident.

People running and walking through the Kenwood neighborhood couldn’t believe it.

As the chase continued, authorities said the driver was throwing suspected narcotics out the window. He kept going and eventually bailed out of the car while it was still in drive near Lyndale and Franklin Avenues.

An officer used his squad to stop the vehicle, while a canine officer stopped the man. Police recovered what is believed to be crack from the area where the man had been driving. The man is now behind bars.
