Twins Place Perkins On Disabled List

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) — The Minnesota Twins have placed left-handed pitcher Glen Perkins on the 15-day disabled list with a right oblique strain.

Perkins suffered the strain in the eighth inning of the Twins 9-6 loss at Arizona.

The Twins will recall left-handed pitcher Dusty Hughes from Triple-A Rochester to replace Perkins on the 25-man roster.

Hughes began the season with the Twins, going 1-0, 10.13 ERA (10.2 ip, 12 er) in 12 appearances, before being optioned to Rochester on May 6.

In five appearances with the Red Wings, Hughes was 0-0, 5.06 ERA (5.1 ip, 3 er), allowing six hits with one walk and five strikeouts.

He is expected to be in uniform for Sunday afternoon’s game against the Diamondbacks in Arizona.

Nothing is going right for the team this year

FIRE AL! If you ask him, it’s all my fault, not the fact we should be wearing our AAA team, Red Wings uniforms out there every night

This is my first year watching baseball after many years. Even though the Twins are not doing well, I am watching almost every game. It is still entertainment and fun to watch. Gotta remember this is a game and not life threatening if they lose.

I wish more people hand your frame of mind on sports. It’s a great game, we’ve got a beautiful new outdoor stadium, hopefully warm summer nights are on the horizon too!
