Twins Place Perkins On Disabled List
MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) -- The Minnesota Twins have placed left-handed pitcher Glen Perkins on the 15-day disabled list with a right oblique strain.
Perkins suffered the strain in the eighth inning of the Twins 9-6 loss at Arizona.
The Twins will recall left-handed pitcher Dusty Hughes from Triple-A Rochester to replace Perkins on the 25-man roster.
Hughes began the season with the Twins, going 1-0, 10.13 ERA (10.2 ip, 12 er) in 12 appearances, before being optioned to Rochester on May 6.
In five appearances with the Red Wings, Hughes was 0-0, 5.06 ERA (5.1 ip, 3 er), allowing six hits with one walk and five strikeouts.
He is expected to be in uniform for Sunday afternoon's game against the Diamondbacks in Arizona.
