Event Connects Homeless With Resources, Services

MINNEAPOLIS (AP) -- More than 1,500 volunteers and service providers will be on hand at an event to connect homeless people with resources and services.

Project Homeless Connect will be held Monday at the Minneapolis Convention Center.

The event is a one-stop shop for people experiencing homelessness. It's designed to connect them with resources to help end the cycle of homelessness.

Cathy ten Broeke is director of the city and county Office to End Homelessness. She says those who attended past events left feeling more hopeful that they could escape homelessness.
