Shots Fired Inside Hopkins Restaurant

By Bruce Hagevik, NewsRadio 830 WCCO

HOPKINS, Minn. (WCCO) -- Several shots were fired inside Lindee's Saloon and Eatery in Hopkins Tuesday morning.

The restaurant was closed at 8 a.m. when the shooting happened, but there were people present.

"At the time of the call there was a cleaning crew on scene -- shortly thereafter the owner also arrived," said Sgt. Michael Glassberg of Hopkins Police.

The owner was able to subdue the 36-year-old shooter, who was promptly arrested when police arrived. The suspect was taken to a hospital for treatment.

"All I can say at this point is there was a dispute between the owner and this individual," explained Sgt. Glassberg.

Police say the man's anger was directed against the owner and not the cleaning crew.

The man may have been an employee from the distant past but also is connected in some other way to the owner. Police did not elaborate.

Several shots hit cash registers.
