The Good Life For Less: Free Theatre Tickets

By Alison Lorge, WCCO

If you've been pushing off "getting cultured" because you think you can't afford it, well that excuse is up!

The Mixed Blood Theatre in Minneapolis isn't just giving away free tickets to a show -- it's giving away free admission for the next three seasons.

They're calling it "Radical Hospitality" and they're doing it in order to get people who don't normally go to a play in the door. That means those who may not have the means to go, those that think it may be too stuffy and those that just haven't experienced it since that grade-school field trip.

The theatre, on the West Bank of the U of M campus says that the quality of the shows will remain the same. They said that they have been relying more on fundraising and foundation funding instead of ticket sales, so if you can, donations are appreciated.

Basically, seats are first-come-first-served or if you prefer to reserve one, you can pay a fee in advance. Check out more about the program here.
